X shadowban test
Find out if your X account is shadowbanned. The test walks you through the four checks that matter (search ban, search suggestion ban, reply deboosting, account status), opens each one on X for you, and explains what your results mean and how to recover.
How it works
- Enter your handle. The test builds the four checks for it: account status, search ban, search suggestion ban and reply deboosting.
- Open each check on X from a different account and pick what you see. Your own account always sees your posts, so it can't tell you.
- The verdict updates as you answer, with the likely cause and recovery steps when something fails.
- Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing touches your account. The test runs in your browser and in X itself.
Questions
What is a shadowban on X?
A shadowban is when X limits who sees your account or posts without telling you. Your posts stay on your profile, but they stop showing in search, your account drops out of search suggestions, or your replies get folded behind "Show more replies".
Does X shadowban accounts?
X doesn't use the word. Its rules do allow limiting the reach of posts and accounts that break them (its "freedom of speech, not freedom of reach" approach), and some limited posts carry a visible label. Spam-like behaviour is the most common trigger.
Why isn't this test automatic?
An automatic checker has to either read X's search through the paid X API, which doesn't always match what people see in the app, or scrape X, which breaks X's rules. Running the checks in X from another account shows you exactly what other people see.
How long does a shadowban last?
X doesn't publish how long limits last. Temporary limits generally lift once the behaviour that triggered them stops. Fix the likely cause, keep posting normally and run the test again after a few days.
I'm not shadowbanned but my reach dropped. Why?
Usually it's the posts, not a ban: fewer replies in the first hour, posting when your followers are offline, or more links (X shows posts with links to fewer people). BuzzyX reads your real X analytics and shows your best posts and best times to post. Try BuzzyX free
