How it works
- X has no bold or italic button. These styles are separate Unicode characters that look like styled letters, so they paste into posts, display names and bios.
- Most styled letters count as 2 characters on X, so a styled post fills up twice as fast. The count next to each style shows what X will charge.
- Screen readers read these characters as symbols or skip them, and X search does not match them to plain words. Use them for a word or a heading, not a whole post.
- Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
